Asia Nowicki

Asia Nowicki is a South East London born, Brighton based mixed media artist whose practice is rooted in neurodiverse ways of perceiving and processing the world.

Exploring gender psychology, fragmented embodiment and obscured femininity, her work combines traditional sculptural processes with DIY and industrial materials to create visceral forms that oscillate between attraction and unease. Humour, tactility and wordplay operate throughout the work as strategies for navigating contradiction, ambiguity and lived experience.

A graduate of Camberwell College of Arts and Sir John Cass, Asia has exhibited across the UK and internationally, including in Paris, Zagreb and New York. She is co-founder of Brighton Women Artists (BWA) and a recipient of an ACE DYCP award. She is currently undertaking an ACE NLPG Research and Development project exploring experimental hybrid structures combining ceramics and latex rubber.
